FTM is based on the jMax project that has been conducted by the IRCAM's Real-Time Systems team coordinated by Francois Dechelle, who contributed some of the essential functionalities to what today is FTM.

FTM is developed by Norbert Schnell and Riccardo Borghesi and Diemo Schwarz with contributions from Remy Müller, Frederic Bevilacqua and Patrice Tisserand.
